Knowing Jesus

The Romans Road:
Be Reconciled to God

The Problem

Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

We are all sinners by nature and by choice. God tells us that no one is righteous and that we all fall short of God's perfect standard.

1

The Consequence

Romans 6:23a: “The wages of sin is death…”

Sin has severe consequences. Our sin has led to spiritual death and will result in eternal separation from God if not dealt with.

2

The Solution

Romans 5:8: “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Even though we are lost in sin and enemies of God, Christ died for us displaying the love of God and providing the offer of the free gift of eternal life.

3

The Response

Romans 10:9: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Salvation is available to everyone, but a response is necessary. By believing in Jesus’s life, death, and resurrection, and confessing him as Lord, we receive the gift of salvation.

4

The Result

Romans 8:1: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

In Christ, we are free from guilt and condemnation. Our sins are forgiven, and we are given a new life in him. Now, we can live at peace with God, having been restored to a right relationship with him!

If you recognize your need for forgiveness and desire a personal relationship with God, you can express repentance and faith with a simple prayer like this:

"Lord, I know that I am a sinner in need of Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again, and I trust in Him for salvation. Please forgive me of my sin, and help me follow You. Amen."
